Games

In the fall of 2011 I played Angry Birds. (I had previously noticed merchandising and had subsequently avoided it.)

It is a fun game. My kids liked it. There are some fun skill-building feelings that go along with it & it is habit-forming.

A day or two before the secular new year I began to play Zynga's Words with Friends. I enjoy it so much and have begun multiple games so that when I sit down I can play for almost as long as I wish. Sometimes all my opponents are away. I can choose to wait for one or more to return or I can begin a new game.

I am observing how this game can be a fun diversion or a strong draw towards turning outwards rather than within.

If I am going to explore the Mainstream this year, I must remember to consciously take time to meditate and go within to counterbalance this draw.
